Home of the Grand Automatic Instruments, and Unique Performances.
"The majestic Main Hall is located on the second floor of the History Hall building. The large performance hall stages grand automated orchestral performances from various instruments. Included is the priceless Philharmonic Orchestrion Titanic Model – originally designed for the Titanic Ship, but canceled just before installation. The automated orchestrion’s performance sound is a once in a lifetime treat.
Also staged is the Phonolist Violina, a rare and original automatic violin and piano. This took over 250 years to develop from conception to completion due to the technical challenges of automating the violin. All the halls grand automatic instruments are demonstrated at set times throughout the day, including remarkable collaborative performances with live musicians and opera singers. Explanations are displayed on the screens in English and simplified Chinese during the demonstrations and performances. "
